Let's Start At The Very Beginning, A Very Good Place To Start

Who: This is Heather's blog, but there are others involved in the process. Heather (33), Jared (31) and Aidan (2). Heather works as the CEO and treasurer, making sure everything runs smoothly, everyone is where they should be, and people are taken care of. (I like to think of myself as a 1950's housewife, with the hipness of a 1970's housewife, and the smarts of a modern day woman.) The husband works in the Canadian military fixing fighter jets and bringing home the bacon (although currently its only turkey bacon, sniffle.) Aidan works hard at playing, jumping from high things, and testing my comfortability settings with dare devil techniques & leaps from couch to ottoman.
Be Descriptive: Wife, mother, daughter, Christian, friend, bloggie, amateur chef, musicphile, more tomboyish than girlie, researcher, sewing machine user, craft attempter, knowledge scourger, reality tv enthusiast, everything has its place proponent, disciple of the 'I kinda haveta buy most stuff online' club cause I live in the boons, member of the spelling police, bible studier, weight loss struggler, crunchy parenting supporter, environmental betterment helper, wannabe voracious reader, iMac fanatic and breastfeeding advocate currently unemployed due to lack of unweaned employers.

Us: Husband and I have been together since 1996. We met online (shocking!) back when the internet had just begun. Love at first sight? Absolutely, although we had talked for a good month or two on the phone before we met face-to-face. In the end it was God who brought us together. Otherwise, how could a boy from Saskatchewan meet a girl from New Brunswick? Uh huh. True story! And we'll be celebrating 10 years married in November.
Where: We live on a airforce base in North Eastern Alberta, in a small town called Cold Lake. There is a lake, it *is* cold. There isn't much else. I kid, there is a Walmart, Zellers, Canadian Tire and a Sears - except the Sears is only a drop off depot. The general synopsis of living here is: you either have babies, put on weight or hunt. Good times.

Aidan: We were poor for much of our relationship together. I remember I used to ask Jared all the time if he thought we would have kids, and even if he wanted them. He didn't know, but always assumed we would. I always knew my life would be incomplete without kids. So after choosing to wait for a rosier financial status, we finally took the plunge and had our first joyous blessing of a child - Aidan - in February of 2006. I need to get my body in order before I have more kids though - even if its something I want a great deal right away.
God: I lived a stone's throw away from a Baptist church for my entire childhood, although I was raised semi-Catholic. I spent more time going to vacation bible school, and just youth group type get togethers at it, than my family's chosen denomination. My MIL & FIL gave me a bible for Christmas 2004, and I would say that's when I started to really learn about Christ. In March of 2008, I pulled out my bible again, and got a little more serious about my faith. Now its a daily part of my life, and we have even found a church (Alliance) that suits our fellowship needs quite well.
For me there is no other choice but to believe. I look at the beautiful, complex, intricate blessing that is my son, and know, there is no other explanation except divine creation. Coincedence is too random for the amazing things in the world. Have you looked around at nature lately? It all is just too complex and beautiful to ignore. It's a God thing.
Livejournal: It started out as a curiosity and a way to chart what was going on with my pregnancy. Then it became a journal, as it is today. Its everything I want to remember, its emotions - good and ugly, and its a way to make a connection with other people like myself. I don't have many *in-person friends*. So you don't have to guess why I'll give you a few hints; shy, has relocated a lot, struggles with self esteem issues that project onto my self worth. Online, none of that matters. You people know more about me than most real people do. I really do love my online friends. Sorry if that makes you feel like I'm lame - but really if you didn't want to make a connection with someone new in the first place, you wouldn't be here either.
Personality: I like to stay positive, and see the good in things and people. I have a weird sense of humor - think 'Flight of the Conchords'. When I'm hanging out with my girlfriends, we tend to talk in a silly, deep, man type voice, babbbay. I used to be extremely sarcastic, but I'm not sure I am anymore. Fart humor sends me over the edge. Naked dude stuff makes me uncomfortable - a.k.a. ew! I think I'm easy to get along with, as long as you don't think you are the best thing the world has ever been given. That is all, carry on.
Favorite Quotes:
#1 "Look, in my opinion the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what-have-you. The right person is still going to think the sun shines out of your ass. That's the kind of person that's worth sticking with."
(from the movie 'Juno')
#2 "And in the end... the love you take... is equal.to.the.love... you make..."
(John Lennon & Paul McCartney (they were in an extremely obscure band called The Beatles))
